北海道のStory

1st May – @  Changi Airport T2

We reached Changi Airport @ 6am in the morning. Waiting for the Chan Brother Tour Guide to be here to distribute our documents and we can proceed with check-in. I am so excited for the trip!

Having BK breakfast after checking in. It is a heavy breakfast because my experience is that on-flight food does not taste good. And I am right. LOL.

Already started to camwhore in Singapore. Keke. Flight will be departing at 8.30am. Walking slowly towards the boarding gate. :)

Mum and Moi on the plane. It is taking off soon. I am preparing to watch the videos in my MP3 player to pass the 7 hours. Cant wait to alight at Narita Airport for the domestic flight to Hokkaido!

1st May – Check-in to Sapporo Apa Hotel and Resort

It is close to 10pm after we alighted @ Chitose Airport and check in to Sapporo Apa Hotel and Resort. There is a Yukata on the bed and also a swan origami on it. :) We are hungry as we had only a small bowl of Udon Soup @ Narita Airport Transit Area. Thus, we go down to the Hotel Lobby to buy food from the super cool vending machine. Hehe.

 Takoyaki which is OISHI ne.

Yakisoba. Nice! Food from the vending machine is surprisingly good.

The unsweet and nice Lipton Lemon Tea. It is a drink that I will surely drink when I am in Nippon. :)

2nd May – Morning in Hotel Room

Woke up at 6.30am. The sun is already hanging up in the sky and shining brightly at this hour!

Mum and Dad in the hotel room. Preparing to go down for our breakfast. :)

2nd May – 朝御飯

Yummy desu no breakfast. Loving the half cooked egg dip in Japanese sauce and with lotsa ’chong’. Am also loving the rectangular tamago.

2nd May – 朝御飯の後で – walk around the hotel

Watashi in front of the hotel. Cooling weather. :)

Mum in front of the entrance to our hotel.

Dad inside the hotel. We are leaving soon to our first destination. :)

2nd May – Hokkaido Jingu

In front of the entrance to the temple. 1 of my favourite places to visit in Japan is their temple. Of cos, I am happy to be here. I like the architecture.

Dad rinsing his hand and mouth before entering the temple. This is a tradition in Japan.

I put in 100 yen to draw a lot. Mine is a lucky one. Mum has a not so good one and thus, she has to tie it at the temple in the photo below so that the bad luck is left at the temple. :)

Mum tying her lot at the temple. Hehe.

The wooden wish card. I wish I had time for this but there is really not much time left for me if I want to take more photos. So I decided to give this a miss. Aniwae, I had tried this before in previous trip to Japan – Kyoto. :)

 Ooh. Beautiful architecture.

The pathway outside of the temple. This is a famous pathway for viewing of Sakura. As seen in the photo above, the sakura has not bloom as predicted due to the cold weather. Sigh. What a pity ne? I can imagine this pathway to be very pretty when all the sakura bloom. ^^

The free mochi which Dad went to queue in a small house next to the temple. It is yummy desu! It is roasted mochi! So it is crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Together with the sweet red bean paste filling, it is just so matching! :)

2nd May -  白い恋人- White Chocolate Factory

The White Chocolate Factory. We are given a passport each for entrance into the factory. :)

The process of how the yummalicious white chocolate biscuit is being made.

The kawaii little garden outside of the factory. It is as if I am being put into a dream like world. I love this place!

Look! The nice little fountain. ^^

When you go Japan, ice cream is something that you need to try. When you are in Hokkaido, ice cream is a MUST eat. LOL! Put the coins into this machine, collect the receipt and I am ready to collect my ice cream at the counter.

Here are our ice cream! The star shape biscuit is so kawaii! It added points to the ice cream. :)

I had the chocolate flavour one and Dad had the mix flavour one. It is so nice!!!!

Mum inside the mini hut. ^^

Moi carrying the cooks with one hand while the cooks save the falling tower. LOL! I had fun doing this. Haha.

Mum in front of the colourful ‘Tu Tu’ train. :)

2nd May - 小樽 Otaru Canal

Otaru Canal. Isn’t it pretty? Oh well. Actually when I am there, I didn’t exactly find it special or nice. But the photos turn out to be good! ;)

Sharon introducing the Otaru Canal to you. Wahahaha.

It is Mum’s turn to introduce it to you. LOL.

The street opposite of Otaru Canal. We are going for our lunch soooooon ~~~~ :)

2nd May - 昼ごはん

The place that we have our lunch sells alot of CRAB!!! We did not buy the crabs though cos we thought it is too rush to slurp the crabs during lunch and we may not enjoy it. ^^

Our set lunch. The fish is said to be very nice. Yes. It is indeed quite oishii. But it is too bony for me and hence, I give it to Dad. :)

Tada~~ This is how the mini nabe looks like. The salmon is fresh. It does not have the ‘fishy’ smell after it is cooked.

After lunch, the vending machine outside the restaurant. I am very fascinated by vending machine in Japan because they can be seen everywhere. And they sell all kinds of drink and I will never run out of choices! ^^

2nd May - 下午茶 @ Fantasy World Otaru

The place that we have our afternoon tea.

Our afternoon tea. We had fruit cake and choice of coffee or tea. Mum and I have tea and Dad has coffee. The mini cups are so cute and they can be brought home as souvenirs. How cool!

Enjoyng my tea. If you have a sweet tooth, you might fancy the fruit cake. The cake is too sweet for me and too milky for my liking.  Nonetheless, I still enjoy the ambience and the time spent here. ^^

Mum and her tea. We are actually waiting for Dad to finish his business in the toliet so that we can proceed to shop at Otaru Street!  :)

2nd May -  Exploring Otaru Street

Otaru Street. This is 1 of my favourite itinerary! Somehow, I love the feel and architecture of this place. And I enjoy shopping here and also eating the ‘xiao chi’. :)

The melon flavour ice cream. My 2nd ice cream for the day! I wanted to try the 5 flavours ice cream but I am too full to finish that by myself. Hehe.

The famous cream puff in Hokkaido. The queue is soooooo soooo long. But I join in the queue. How can I not try? LOL.

Ooooh. It looks so tempting!!!! I am going to buy 2 of each flavour! Wahaha!

The fresh and juicy scallop which was barbequed by a Shinsetsu no Ojisan. It cost 200 Yen per scallop. He put some butter in to barbeque it. It is so yummy and the fragrance of butter is so strong!

Me sitting by the road side enjoying my scallop!

The corn! Yes the corn! It is damn damn damn super super super duper duper duper nice!! I am not a corn person. But this corn is really nice! No wonder I read that Hokkaido corn is very oishi. It is very fresh and juicy. The moment I bite into it, the juice splash through my teeth and into my mouth. It is very very sweet!!! We have 4 sticks of it! LOL!

Now. We have some time to settle down for the cream puff. This is 1 of the flavour that I bought. It looks ready to be eaten by just looking at the appearance.

Now now. It looks more ready to be munch on after seeing the inner beauty! It is very nice!!! Bread Papa in Singapore is often too sweet and not too nice. But this one, it is not very sweet but the cream is very fragrance and yummy! When you bite down, the cream just ooze and go into your mouth. ^^

Mum who is not a person for chocolate, cream, cakes and sweet stuff is also enjoying the puff. Now you see the wonders of this cream puff. No wonder it is so famous!

I shall end the cream puff story with a happy face of my Daddy!!!

2nd May -  大仓山 to view Sapporo City

Sapporo City View. It should be pretty when it is night time. :)

Dad and Me. It is super cold here! It is like I am in a freezer! Hehe.

This is also the place for Olympic Skiing. Dad is No.1, Mum is No.2 and I am 3rd. ^^

2nd May -  晩御飯@Suzukino

Our set dinner. Yum Yum. Loving the chawamushi, tempura and fried tori. This is at Suzukino. It is a place that is similar to Shinjuku. I really like Suzukino. There are lotsa gigolos too. But they are all so kakkoi and cool! Wahahaha. I regretted not taking photo of Suzukino ne.

 Mum and Dad @ dinner.

2nd May -  Supper in hotel room

Kirin Beer. I could not find the one that I drank in Japan previously. But this one is nice too! There is no alcohol in it. So I can drink! Hehe. It is not bitter but the fragrance of the beer is very nice. :)

The other flavour of the cream puff. This is even nicer than the one I ate in the afternoon. Oishii ne!

The inner beauty of the cream puff. The cream is so much more than the other flavour. No need for me to say much. It is nice. Hehe.

3rd May – Morning in Hotel Room

Me and Daddy in the hotel room before breakfast. We are checking out of Sapporo Apa Hotel and Resort this morning. :)

3rd May – Passing Scenery on bus

The passing scenery while I am on the bus to Lake Toya. It is so beautiful ne! Ooh! ^^

3rd May – Lake Toya

 綺麗なLake Toya.

It is really just beautiful. Such a relax to be at this place with a cooling weather!

My art piece. LOL. So romantic right? Keke.

Me! The background is just like a picture! Pretty nya! ^^

3rd May – 昼ごはん

Steamboat with Miso Soup Base for lunch! Yum Yum! The scallop and the prawns are nice! Plus there is my favourite Udon! ^^

Moi and the steamboat. Yummy! On a side note, no idea why my face is so bloated today. Or maybe it is always that bloated? LOL!

3rd May – Mt Showa 昭和新山

This mountain is just opposite the restaurant where we had our lunch. There are smoke still coming out from the side of the mountain. We quickly munch our lunch and came down to explore. With lesser crowd, it is a pleasure to move around. :)

We cross over the carpark and move nearer to Mt Showa. This is 1 of the youngest mountain in Japan. In the past, this place was a flat land. One day, an earthquake hit and after the shaking and all, this mountain was born. Omoshiroi ne!

Moi! Sitting on the concrete stairs introducing Mt Showa. :)

Mum standing on the big grass field with Mt Showa at the back. Pretty!

The pathway to walk up to see a closer view of MT Showa. Somehow, I love the bare trees by the side of the pathway. It gives me a very romantic feel. :)

Moi and Dad on the bench. My face looks abit unnatural because there is a super super big fat crow next to the bench. Kowai yo!!!

3rd May – The shop houses next to Mt Showa 昭和新山

The shop houses opposite of Mt Showa. I found the potato farm yummy fries at this place! It is really very nice!

We bought the Fried Potato too. It is very nice too. When I bite into it, the outer part is abit crispy and the inner part is the potato which is very soft and yet not to the extend of nuah. There is also this potato fragrance that fill up my mouth. The wonders of Hokkaido Potatoes!

I bought this thinking it is a donut. And a donut that looks so yummy. Apparently, it is NOT a donut. When I bite into it, I got myself a suprise! It is a pleasant surprise!

Look! It is coated with sugar on the outside, filled with a 1st layer of flour, 2nd layer of potato and the filling of red bean paste! The moment I bite into this, I fall in love with it. The crispy and sweet outer skin, the soft and fragrance potato and the not too sweet but yummy red bean paste. Thumbs up! ^^

3rd May – Bear Ranch

Moi @ the bear ranch 熊牧场. The bear statues are so kawaii!!!

The entrance of the Bear Ranch. I bought apples to feed the bears inside. But I think the bears are too full to eat my apples. Cos when I throw the apples, they don’t even try to catch. LOL!

3rd May – Jigokudani Hell Valley

We are at Jigokudani Hell Valley. Oh! The smell of sulphur is really very strong! Here is where the hot spring comes from.

Me! Hehe. We need to walk further in to see the Hot Spring Originator called the 温泉眼 in Chinese. ^^

The smoke!!! It really does look like HELL! LOL!

It is an eye opener for me! This is the first time I see the 温泉眼. It is so bubbling with hot spring water!

The toliet @ Jigokudani Hell Valley. Kawaii!!! It so matched the theme of this place! Devils! ^^

4th May – Morning @ Noboribetsu Sekisuitei Hotel

This is our 1st Tatami Hotel. ^^ We slept on the Tatami yesterday and it was a good experience of the traditional way of sleeping in Japan. Keke. However, as the hotel is near to the Jigokudani Hell Valley, the smell of sulphur was really strong throughout the night.

The free local snacks that are provided in the hotel room. The mochi is nice! :)

First attempt of the Sapporo Beer the night before. It is quite nice but I still prefer Kirin! LOL.

Mum in the hotel room. ^^

Daddy in the Yukata. He looks just like a Samurai lor. Hahaha!

My idea of ‘你看我 我看你’. Keke. It is time to leave the room for breakfast!

4th May - Breakfast @ Noboribetsu Sekisuitei Hotel

Breakfast! Eggs and eggs again! Yum! Oh and did I mention before that adding curry sauce to porridge is a nice combination? Hehe.

4th May - Morning Walk @ Noboribetsu Sekisuitei Hotel

After breakfast, we decided to go out for a walk. I love and really enjoy morning walk during the season of spring and autumn. The weather is cooling and the air is fresh. I just feel so relax. ^^

The kawaii little girl who small run over to hold my hands with her little fingers. She seems to like me alot and keep tagging along with me. So cute! The way her mum dresses her is so fashionable. Hehe.

4th May - On Bus: Journey to Shiraoi Ainu Village

On the way to our first destination of the day which is Shiraoi Ainu Village. I took out the packet of cookies which I bought from the White Chocolate Factory to munch on. It is really very nice! It has a nice fragrance and is not too sweet or milky. I love it! :)

4th May - Shiraoi Ainu Village

@ the entrance of Shiraoi Ainu Village. I love to visit such places and it reminds me of Takayama where I went last year. ^^

Inside of the village. This is how the Ainu villagers live. These Ainu villagers are no longer in existence. This place is just an imitation of how the Ainu villagers live and the culture of the Ainu.

The beautiful scenery at Shiraoi Ainu Village! I find the scenery like a nice piece of picture! I am really feeling at bliss over here. LOL!

 OMG! It is really とても綺麗な!

The rows of Pine Trees. They are Pine Trees right? Hehe. I really really love this place because of the scenery. I am at BLISS! ^^

 The ‘Ata Chu’. LOL.

The place where we watched the performance of the Ainu’s culture and ways of living.

We are inside the ‘Ata Chu’. Hur hur. Excited to watch the performance. But the Ainus burned the charcoal in the house and it really stink the whole place. We need to use tissue paper to cover our nose to prevent ourselves from coughing.

The nice performance has started. I am quite shocked by the fact that the women of Ainus had to have their whole body tattoo. It started when they were still young. In the past, they will use the knife to tattoo and the agony of pain is very big. So they have to tattoo bits by bits over the years. The women need to have their face tattoo as if they are having moustache as well. This is to prevent the evil forces. Omoshiroi ne. :)

4th May - Swan Lake

Here is the swan lake. As what it is called, it has lotsa swans!!! And these swans are OOKI dane! :)

Finally, capturing a photo of me and a little little bit of the swan in the background. LOL!

I pick this up from the sand. Swan Feather! ^^

4th May - @ Chitose Factory Outlet

We have our lunch @ the food court of Chitose Factory Outlet. The super nice Takoyaki! It is like so BIG and there is so much mayo on top of it. Yum!!!

Udon Soup. It is just so plain looking but the udon is yet so much nicer and smoother than all the udon that I had in Singapore. ^^

We can chose from a wide range of Tempura to match with our Udon Soup. Oh well. The above picture seems to be a mess of tempura. There are actually prawns, chicken and yasai. It looks like a mess but it definitely does not taste like a mess. It is cho oishii! After a quick lunch, we were off for shopping @ Chitose Factory Outlet. Chiong ah!! We got ourselves quite a bit of stuff in the end. :)

4th May - Back to Shikanoyu Hotel

We are back to Shikanoyu Hotel after shopping at Chitose Factory Outlet. Me in the Yukata! Wahaha.

Mum and me!!! I thought we look so cute in the Yukata. Hur hur.

After camwhoring a series of photo with the Yukata, we go down to the streets outside the Hotel for a walk and of cos, hoping to find some nice snacks to munch on at night. Hehe.

Love how the streets look like. So Japanese style and so quiet and peaceful. With the cooling weather, it is never a chore to walk the streets up and down. ^^
